Inventory Best Practices
Inventory should not interfere with Learning and Teaching
Closing the library for inventory is no longer recommended
Discontinue checkout for students ten days before the end of school in order to bring books back
Continue to allow students and staff to use the resources and checkout for a limited time on a "per need" basis
Inventory completely during the ten days or continue with "partial" inventory schedule
If prefered, setup an inventory schedule that allows "sections" of the library to be inventoried during the year
All sections should be inventoried within a two to three year period
Materials not seen after two or three years can be deleted from the collection
